Built up against the cliff, offering a stunning view over the beach of Veulettes sur Mer, the Pont Rouge Site reveals its natural and heritage wealth. The path creates a loop and takes you across meadows and coastal environments while inviting to explore a station from World War II with impressive bunkers.
From the Pont Rouge on the seafront in Veulettes sur Mer/ Paluel, a one-kilometre-long educational trail winds up the cliff between bunkers that are visible from former trenches, which were partly recreated.
Four areas have been converted into interpretative centres, inside or around restored bunkers that you can visit:
- The exceptional ecological value of the site and natural heritage management (under construction)
- The History of the German station
- The Atlantic Wall and life under the occupation
- The Memory bunker
