Description

In 2026, Un Été Au Havre explores the idea of “double play” — an invitation to experience the city from multiple perspectives and discover its many layers. Reflections, viewpoints and contrasts shape a programme of artworks that challenge perception and reimagine the landscapes of Le Havre. Bridging contemporary art and cultural heritage, the artists reveal the city's many faces: the strength of its modernist architecture, the vibrant energy of its port and the richness of its Impressionist legacy. This new edition features a series of original artworks that transform the urban landscape and offer fresh ways of looking at the city and its heritage: “Guillaume Aubry gives Claude Monet the opportunity to free his gaze from the past, Sophia Taillet makes the cathedral tremble, Samuel Trenquier invites spirits into a public park and Charlotte Huard reintroduces coral into the city. Gaspard Combes brings icebergs into the heart of the urban landscape, while Grégory Chatonsky gathers the people of Le Havre inside a telephone booth.” Gaël Charbau, Artistic Director Art Trails to Explore Through the Old Town – urban curiosities, industrial heritage and exhibitions Along the Quays – historic landmarks, iconic architecture and harbour vistas Following the Water – seaside promenade, coastal landscapes and beachside discoveries From Garden to Garden – scenic viewpoints, leisurely walks and lush greenery A Rich Cultural Programme Complements the Event “Monet in Le Havre” at MuMa Le Havre (André Malraux Museum of Modern Art) “The Story of Fixity”, an exhibition by Noémie Goudal at Le Portique “Anima (Ex) Musica” at the Natural History Museum “Reminiscences – Ghosts of Slavery” at the Maison de l’Armateur This summer, Le Havre is the place to enjoy a refreshing breath of art and creativity.
