Description

Exhibitions at the Saint Pierre le Vieux linen festival, from 10 a.m. to 6:30 p.m - Jean-Louis RAGUENEL - Church - "L?Entre Deux As a freelance textile designer, Jean-Louis?s experience with several fabric publishers - in France and abroad - led him to transpose his studio designs into industrial prints and weaves. Gradually, his attention turned to the silty soils of Normandy, rich in flax fiber crops. This became his principal medium. He draws with the blue-flowered grass, kneading and shaping it to create volumes? drawings in volume. Everything comes together, intersects and overlaps. The patterns of sinuous plants intermingle through superimposition, becoming cartographies without obscuring the real, because it's the material, the material that we might forget is behind the pattern, but it's the material that holds us. - Dominique MOREAU - Church - "Aerial roots For a long time, I've been expressing the idea of thrust, vital energy, the force of life, but also its fragility. The earth is strong but sensitive to our actions. Seeds, tubers, sprouts, etc. emerge from my work. Today, roots allow me to evoke all this. I bring them to light, I take them out of the underground, out of their context. This year, the festival theme gives me the pleasure of creating aerial roots. New forms impose themselves on me. Suspended roots or roots running along the ground, like those of certain ficus trees, the more or less pointed pneumatophores of certain cypress trees emerging from the ground, the stilt roots of mangroves, the above-ground roots of corn and those of orchids are my sources of inspiration. I offer a range of installations created mainly in linen, using a variety of techniques. >Linen Festival prices 15 ? 3-day multi-site wristband (14? in advance on the online ticketing service until the day before the Festival, and 15? on site (excluding the parade and visits to the Ronchay and Embrin weaving mills) 5? admission to one site only (exhibition) Free admission for children under 12 and people with reduced mobility, excluding the parade and the Ronchay weaving and Embrin workshops.
