Description
The Frac Normandie presents “Céleste Boursier-Mougenot: traversées sonores”, an exhibition of works never before seen in Normandy.
For the Côte Sainte-Catherine, the artist has created a unique triptych of sound swings. Each is topped with a bell cast specifically for the project, and the public is invited to take a seat on them. The bells, repurposed from their original function, become a source of jubilant sound. The art of swinging evokes both childhood and humanity’s fascination with flight.
The installation echoes ‘Envolée’, a masterful work exhibited at the Frac Normandie in Caen, comprising eight swings topped with church bells. The experience continues at the Château de Saint-Germain-de-Livet, in the heart of the Pays d’Auge.
