Rouen and the surrounding area boast some fifteen organs by this great 19th-century organ builder, from his earliest achievements such as the organ at the Basilique de Bonsecours and Saint-Jean-Baptiste d?Elbeuf (1857) to the great organ at the Abbey of Saint-Ouen in Rouen (1890). Each represents a stage in the evolution of his art, from technique to aesthetics.
