The Maison des Forêts de Darnétal is located in the Bois du Roule communal wood on a dome overlooking the Robec and Aubette valleys. It also offers a magnificent panoramic view over the city of Rouen. The Bois du Roule boasts a wide variety of tree species (oak, birch, maple, wild cherry), as well as a number of strikingly shaped trees. In terms of fauna, the deer is very present. The wood is also home to many bird species.

NB: Since 1996, the Bois du Roule and the côte du Roule have been classified by the Seine-Maritime department as a Sensitive Natural Area (ENS).
