BUXTEHUDE / ERLEBACH/ KRIEGER / J.S. BACH / TELEMANN
The Stamps
Yoko Kawakubo, violin
Myriam Rignol, viola da gamba
Julien Wolfs, harpsichord
The ensemble Les Timbres plunges us into the musical roots of Johann Sebastian Bach. The young Bach was fascinated by Dietrich Buxtehude. The twenty-year-old Bach stayed with Buxtehude in Lubeck for four months. As an organist and composer, Buxtehude enjoyed an exceptional aura. The ensemble Les Timbres also examines the music of Erlebach and Krieger, two North German composers who also exerted a notable influence on Johann Sebastian Bach. A return to the origins of the greatest genius in the history of music!
