The Notre-Dame-de-Bonsecours chapel was built in 1876 on the eastern cliff, overlooking Le Pollet and facing the château. The chapel was erected in memory of sailors lost at sea, on the initiative of the Société du Secours Mutuel de la Marine.
Its architecture is characterized by the sober use of brick, a band of colored and varnished bricks, and a bell tower flanked by two turrets with conical-roofed belfries.
The interior features numerous ex-votos and plaques commemorating the families of sailors lost at sea. These include ship models, photographs and paintings that adorn the chapel walls. There is also a stained glass window above the portal, depicting a sailor?s comfort in knowing his ship is protected by a lucky star.
When it was built in 1876, the chapel was a place of pilgrimage, with no dwellings, before becoming the parish chapel of Neuville-lès-Dieppe in 1933.
