In the heart of one of the most beautiful treasures of the architectural and cultural heritage of Rouen: the Aître Saint Maclou, the Galerie des Arts du Feu invites you to live a sensory journey in the heart of the material.
Presentation of this ancestral technique: crystal powder is deposited on a copper medallion which is fired at over 800°C. The enamel then takes on a liquid appearance like molten lava and flows freely on the surface. The result is colored and bright reflections that are very resistant to wear and tear.
Each participant creates a pendant according to the following procedure: choice of copper shape and colors, degreasing and gluing of the support, sprinkling of counter-glaze and flux, 1st firing, sanding, application of colors, 2nd firing, sanding again, choice of grit and millefiori, gluing and application, 3rd firing, final sanding, assembly of the hoop and necklace.
