La Fête du Ventre and Gastronomy of Normandy

La Fête du Ventre

In Rouen, gastronomy has its own festival. Tradition and terroir, the Fête du Ventre has become a not-to-be-missed event of your autumn in Normandy.
Don’t miss these two days of festivities, focusing on Norman gastronomy, traditional recipes and local produce… an open-air market on October 11 and 12, 2025.

In the heart of the city

It was the Rouen Conqueror Association that revived this event, celebrated in the 1930s. Located in Rouen’s Vieux Marché district, the “Fête du ventre et de la gastronomie normande” invites you to discover more than 170 local producers each year. Local artisans and chefs from Rouen come together to share their love of Norman gastronomy…

Don’t miss the culinary events and farm animals: Normandy cows, goats… and producers in traditional Norman costumes!

What's new for the Fête du ventre

This year, new events are scheduled in the Quartier du Vieux Marché (Place du Vieux Marché, Place de la Pucelle, Rue Rollon, Rue Guillaume le Conquérant) and Rue aux Ours in Rouen. On the program: culinary demonstrations and tastings to tantalize the taste buds!

Cultural events are also on the agenda, and don’t miss the presence of numerous brass bands.

 Rouen à Table

This year, the Fête du Ventre expands with the first edition of “Rouen à Table”. This convivial event celebrates culinary talent throughout the city. Big breakfasts, big brunches, cooking classes with Fauchon, battles between Michelin-starred, international and local chefs on Place de la Cathédrale, gastronomic rallies, big tea parties…

Gourmets will be able to sample typical Normandy dishes, carefully prepared by local chefs and producers, in a warm and festive atmosphere. A diversified and innovative program highlighting Rouen’s recognition as the first French city in the UNESCO Creative Cities network in terms of gastronomy.

Let yourself be carried away by Rouen's gastronomy

Rouen’s gastronomy, rich in flavors and traditions, reflects the savoir-faire of the Normandy region. In the heart of Rouen, you’ll find typical dishes such as duck à la rouennaise, a specialty where tender meat blends perfectly with the fruity taste of local cider.
