By breaking a candlestick handed down from generation to generation in her family, 12-year-old Anaïs brings back to life Victoria, an unknown grandmother, a free-spirited and whimsical woman who once lived in Egypt. Rediscovering her life, she gradually comes to understand the curse that affects the women in her family, and reconnects with her native culture and language, Arabic, to finally achieve happiness.
