While his mixed-media dance blends fluid, syncopated movements at the crossroads of Oriental and contemporary influences, his subjects are immediately clear. Ou?m, for example, is dedicated to the famous Egyptian singer Oum Kalthoum. A tribute to the Arab diva, it features the oriental rhythms of two musicians on stage and the seismic undulations of six male and female dancers, whose group dynamics ignite the space.
