[Spectacle] Les caprices de Cupidon

The city is celebrating. Theseus, Duke of Athens, is to marry HIPPOLYTE. Preparations for the ceremony, which will take place in a few hours' time, are well underway. But old THALÈS doesn't share the euphoria: his daughter EUNISSE is supposed to marry DÉMÉTRIUS, but it's another of his courtiers, LYSANDRE, who has the young woman's favor. HÉLÈNE, another young Athenian noblewoman, yearns for DÉMÉTRIUS. THALÈS asks the Duke to rule in her favor, and he reminds EUNISSE that the law requires...
