The church in Montivilliers is home to a number of architectural features that deserve a closer look.
Founded in 1065, the building was not completed until 1140, and its history is as closely linked to that of the Abbey as it is to that of the town.
A rare example of an abbey church located in the heart of the city, it was separated into two parts (one for the monastery, the other for the parish), then altered several times and even served as a theater after the French Revolution.
Romanesque and Gothic styles rub shoulders here, along with a profusion of decorations and details that are sometimes surprising!
Come in and let yourself be carried away by a thousand years of history!
