In the past, the Parfondval valley gave the local inhabitants easier access to the sea. They even equipped it with a rope to facilitate the ascent from the beach to the plateau. The site also left its mark on history: the Chouan general Georges Cadoudal, exiled in England, used this valley to land in France in an attempt to overthrow Napoleon. For a time, the valley was nicknamed the "Gorges de Cadoudal".
Today, the valley is a natural descent to the sea. Carefully descend to the bottom of the valley and start climbing the opposite side.
