Many species of dragonfly can be observed here.
During the 19th century, wood was exploited to supply the local forges. At the same time, peat mining continued until the early 20th century. In the 1980s, 5 artificial ponds were created on the two rivers.
The site is owned by the Commune de Forges-les-Eaux and managed by the Département de la Seine-Maritime in partnership with the ONF.
