This south-facing sensitive natural area offers a magnificent panorama over the Aubette valley. It consists mainly of limestone grasslands, home to a wide variety of orchids and butterflies.
Côte du Roule was used for sheep grazing until the early 20th century, fostering the development of a rich and diverse flora and fauna. When these practices ceased, the site was abandoned. Today, preservation and enhancement measures are in place to restore and maintain the site and preserve its characteristic species.
The site is owned by the Communes of Saint-Léger-du-Bourg-Denis and Darnétal, as well as private individuals, and managed by the Département de la Seine-Maritime.
