The Dun valley is typical of coastal rivers in Seine-Maritime. In its coastal section, before emptying into the sea, the Dun flows through a wide, undeveloped meadow, offering a remarkable landscape of farmhouses, copses and wet meadows, home to numerous species of breeding and migratory birds.
Until the 18th century, the Dun flowed in meanders. The old layout can still be seen in the plots to the east of the river. Numerous modifications have been made over time. Today, the course is straight and the estuary is completely dyked.
Guided tours of this remarkable site are organized by the Département and its partners.
The site is owned by the Conservatoire du Littoral and managed by the Département de la Seine-Maritime
