La basse vallée de l'Yères et le Mont Joli-Bois

  • Sensitive Natural Environments
76910 Criel-sur-Mer
Located between Dieppe and Le Tréport, the Lower Yères Valley – Mont Joli-Bois is a site of important ecological interest. It offers visitors stunning landscapes. First, you will see ponds, woodlands, wet meadows and salt marshes in the heart of the valley before reaching an amazing panoramic view over the English Channel and the Yères Valley at the top of Mont Joli-Bois. A wide range of birds and plants typical of estuarine habitats is present in this nature site.
Farming, grazing and fishing have prevailed in the lower valley for several centuries. Despite the increasing urban development and the growing tourism industry with the presence of a seaside resort on the site, this sensitive natural area has managed to maintain a significant level of farming and grazing and its natural look intact.
This site belongs to the Conservatoire du littoral (Coastal protection agency) and is managed by the Department of Seine-Maritime.
