The undivided Forêt d?Eu is a natural area divided into 4 remarkable entities. these are: the lower Eu forest, the limestone slopes of the upper Eu forest, the Siège Madame peat bogs and the Beaumont moors. Each of these areas is of interest for its flora and fauna. These include numerous protected species such as ferns, orchids and amphibians (frogs, newts, etc.).
Originally belonging to the Dukes of Normandy and then to the Count of Eu, the forest of Eu long remained the property of the Orleans family. Finally, in 1915, the State and the Department of Seine-Inférieure took possession of the forest. Today, the Office National des Forêts manages the area on behalf of the State and the Seine-Maritime Department.
The site is owned by the State and the Seine-Maritime Department, and managed by the ONF.
