Exhibitions in Angiens as part of the Flax Festival:

- Hameau de Silleron, Chapelle du Château de Silleron : Catherine BERNARD - "Petites aventures humaines" (Small human adventures)
The need to create is self-evident; the artistic act allows for multiple rebirths. Fashion, or more precisely being in the world, being there, is the interweaving of a thousand imperceptible stories, where strength and fragility meet.
My research focuses on the limits of fragility, the resistance of paper and variations in its transparency. As a result, my work expresses the ambivalence of light and heavy at the frontier of possibilities, hence the desire to work the contradiction by loading the transparency of paper with the weight of writing and memory. In this writing, nourished by stories that are both personal and universal, I infiltrate and embroider words and ills, leaving room for interpretation and expression
to interpretation, to the expression of emotions and to the creation of stories for those who are watching...
I'm a story-maker.

- Hameau de Silleron, Jardin du château: Anne MAILLÉ, "Les effacés" (The Erased)
A visual artist specializing in textile art, I transform old sheets and clothes into giant dresses and hangings. My creative process begins with painting the sheets. I then sew these fabrics to create majestic dresses
which I embroider and sew by hand. The dresses presented here are part of my Les effacées series, which pays tribute to 23 women embroiderers who collaborated with famous painters. Through this series, I wanted to shed light on these women who have remained in the shadows, each giant dress bearing the first name of one of these forgotten embroiderers.
My work explores themes of femininity, fragility and memory. Each sheet and each garment carries the story of those who wore them. I exhibit my Les effacées series outdoors, hanging from trees, where the
where the deterioration of the dresses evokes the notion of erasure and the passage of time. The notion of protection is deeply rooted in thread art. These dresses refer to the protective function of clothing and to our first habitat, the tent or
hut. This work echoes anthropologist Tim Ingold?s reflections on our first habitat, located between Heaven and Earth.

- Hameau d?Iclon, Église d?Iclon: Lola GREENWICH "From Earth to Heaven"
Words and nature are at the heart of my artistic approach and inspiration. It also very often comes from literary works, stories, poems, haikus*, which awaken in me a desire to create and give birth to ideas and images from my imagination. The raw material for my work is vegetable paper fiber, mainly linen fiber. I collect plants from my surroundings and transform the material into paper fiber, which I model, embroider and sometimes embellish with pearls or gold leaf. Nature inspires me, from the sky to the earth, and I draw on its resources
resources to recreate moments gleaned, felt, stolen from time. Out of time and seasons.
*A haiku is an extremely brief Japanese poem celebrating the evanescence of things and the sensations they evoke. They always have something to do with nature and the passing seasons.

- Lalinéa, 202 rue de la Forge : Mélanie LE GRAND "Les Mondes
Les Mondes is the materialization of a vision that places the human being in a Grand Vivant far vaster than his thoughts. The artist?s suspended sculptures and strangely familiar creature-organisms interact
with a multitude of small human beings, reminding us that life is interconnected, in perpetual search of balance, and that we are very much a part of it.
Mélanie LE GRAND, a performance artist from the Drôme, presents a series of sculptures, suspensions and mobiles in textile materials
and mobiles in textile materials, tangled with colored threads, torn and painted. For the Festival du Lin, she integrates flax fiber into her work, presenting an original suspended work based on the figure of the tree, between Heaven and Earth, a universal symbol of life and knowledge.

- Saturday, July 5, 4:30pm: Hameau de Silleron, Jardin du château: Elisa ALCALDE -Li(E)n - Création 2025 "The art of hanging on the thread of a flower
Li(E)n is a contemporary circus show that explores the material of linen through aerial acrobatics, dance and sculpture. Flax, a natural and resistant material, becomes a unique tool for experimentation in suspension and stage manipulation.
Through this project, the artists wish to explore the interactions between the human body and the material, highlighting the symbolism of linen and its link with ecology and nature.
Number of artists on stage: 3 / Open to all / Duration 50 minutes

- Friday to Sunday, 10 a.m. to 12 p.m.: Sensory tour of the château garden
