Located in the Yères valley, Saint-Aquilin church belongs to the Val du Roy hamlet. This small Romanesque church, known as the "Chapelle du Val du Roy", was rebuilt in 1779 by Jean-Clément BIRON. Parts of the chapel were built at different times. The nave was built in the 18th century, the heart, bell tower and west door of the nave date from the 19th century, and the sacristy was added at the end of the 19th century.
Neglected for many decades, the ruined edifice threatened to collapse. A conservation association, "Les sauveurs de Saint Aquilin", was set up in 2003 to restore the chapel. The work was supported by the Fondation du Patrimoine. The chapel is open to the public from May 1 to September 30, from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm.
