To mark the bicentenary of the birth of Léopoldine Hugo (1824-1843), Victor Hugo?s eldest daughter, the Département de la Seine-Maritime is paying tribute to this luminous and inspiring figure with an original exhibition: "Aime celui qui t?aime? Léopoldine à Villequier", presented at the Maison Vacquerie ? Musée Victor-Hugo in Villequier, from June 19 to November 3, 2025.

A sensitive staging by Jean Oddes brings this tragic destiny to life in a visual and audio journey through the heart of the museum and the village of Villequier, featuring a work by video art pioneer Ange Leccia.
Exceptional objects, a romantic atmosphere: this exhibition pays tribute to the profound inspiration Victor Hugo drew from this ordeal.
A cultural program will accompany this exceptional exhibition: a day of literary encounters on June 28, readings, workshops, shows, as well as several publications including the bicentenary catalog and the museum album, and an original botanical creation: the Rose Léopoldine Hugo-Vacquerie.
From December 2025, an original exhibition by Normandy painter Olivier Desvaux, "Les Reflets de Léopoldine", will continue this evocation of light and emotion.
