A vibrant summer in Seine-Maritime Festivities, culture and nature

Seine-Maritime, your summer playground!

When summer sets in, the Seine-Maritime region awakens to the rhythm of festivities, outdoor escapades and cultural or sensational discoveries.

With sunny beaches, cycling routes, lively terraces and cool breaks in museums, the region promises a rich and varied summer season to suit all tastes.

A festive summer: music, markets and joie de vivre

When summer comes, Seine-Maritime is all about merriment! The Fête de la Musique on June 21 kicks things off with free concerts on every street corner.

In July, the Festival d’Été de Dieppe lights up the evenings with seaside shows. In Blainville-Crevon, the Archéo Jazz Festival blends history and enchanting melodies.

And to prolong this convivial atmosphere, there’s nothing like the summer markets ofFécamp, Veules-les-Roses or Dieppe. Sun-drenched fruit, smoked fish and artisanal sweets are all on offer at stalls brimming with color and local flavors. Ah, how beautiful life is!

Summer beaches: all the facets of the Côte d'Albâtre

The Côte d’Albâtre is a jewel box of beaches with varied personalities, and if there’s ever a time to take advantage of them, it’s summer! At Étretat, the spectacular cliffs offer a unique setting for idleness and water sports.

The beach at Veules-les-Roses, meanwhile, has a picturesque charm and family atmosphere. In Dieppe, history meets relaxation: alternate between museums and swimming near its famous pebbles.

Thrill-seekers will prefer Saint-Jouin-Bruneval, a wild spot where paddleboarding and sailing reign supreme. From swimming to sunbathing to water sports (kayaking, sailing, paddle, kitesurfing…), each beach promises an unforgettable summer experience.

Summer adventures: nature and the great outdoors in Seine-Maritime

Nature lovers will find a thousand ways to enjoy an active summer.

The GR21, voted France’s most beautiful path in 2021, winds its way between cliffs and picturesque villages. Cyclists will love the Véloroute du Lin, which crosses fields as far as the eye can see, or the La Seine à Vélo itinerary, which takes you from the banks of the river to the sea – children can even follow on electric scooters!

For an unusual experience, the Vélo Rails d’Étretat offer a different way of exploring the countryside.

When the sun beats down or the rain invites itself, take refuge in the region’s museums, from the MUMA in Le Havre to the MuséoSeine in Rives-en-Seine. With the family, head for the Parc Animalier de Roumare or a session of accrobranche for a breath of fresh air.

Finally, paddling the Seine in a kayak will give you a unique perspective on the river’s wild beauty.

Summer evenings: seafront and unforgettable moments

Summer in Seine-Maritime can also be experienced at dusk. The seafronts of Le Havre, Dieppe and Veules-les-Roses (and many others!) play host to lively terraces, beach parties and spontaneous concerts. Enjoy a cocktail as the sun sets, or remake the world over a drink, lulled by the sound of the waves.

Our favorite? Rouen’s “Terrasses du jeudi” are in full swing every July, offering concerts across the city, to be enjoyed with a drink in hand, curled up on a terrace in the sun! These simple but magical evenings reflect the warm, festive spirit of the region.
