 3 GR® with incomparable charms

Seine-Maritime is criss-crossed by numerous long-distance hiking trails (GR®).

Here’s a closer look at the department’s 3 main GR® trails:

  • GR® 21 Littoral de la Normandie

This rather sporty itinerary offers 190 kms of trails along the Côte d’Albâtre, from Le Tréport to Le Havre, including the must-see sites of Etretat, Dieppe and Veules-les-Roses. There are plenty of ways to get started, with sections of the GR adapted to your fitness level and pace. Energized by the thrill of discovering the sea from the top of the cliffs, take to the paths with energy and swallow the differences in altitude, which have (almost) nothing to envy those of the mountains. It’s well worth the detour, as the panorama is sublime! Further on, as you pass through villages, take the time to discover the local heritage and stop to sample the local specialities.

Did you know that the GR® 21 was voted France’s favorite GR® in 2020? This exceptional trail, filmed as part of the Mon GR® préféré competition organized by FFRandonnée, invites you to explore the wild beauty of the Côte d’Albâtre. Dubbed the “GR® Littoral de la Normandie” (Normandy Coastal GR®), the trail extends to Mont-Saint-Michel, offering a 785 km itinerary along the Normandy coast.

*The little trick on the GR®21: walk light, without luggage, with the Malle Postale.
To make the most of your hike in complete peace of mind, the Malle Postale luggage transport service accompanies you on the GR® 21 from Dieppe to Le Havre. How does it work? You book your accommodation, and La Malle Postale takes care of everything! Each morning, your luggage is collected from your accommodation and transported to the next. All that’s left for you to do is enjoy the Côte d’Albâtre landscape to the full! For more information: www.lamallepostale.com

  • The GR® 2 Au fil de la Seine

The GR® 2 Au fil de la Seine runs for almost 900 km, from its source north of Dijon to the English Channel! In Seine-Maritime, the 150 km-long route allows you to admire the meandering Seine and discover exceptional sites in a whole new light. You’ll reach Rouen, Le Havre, the abbeys of Normandy, the Boucles de la Seine Normande Regional Nature Park, our forests and charming villages. A top-notch program!

  • GR® 210 In the footsteps of the Chasse-Marée

If you’ve got curiosity and energy to spare, the GR® 210 is for you! A route steeped in history, it links Dieppe to Rouen over a distance of 86 kilometers. From the city of four ports to the city of a hundred steeples, there’s plenty to discover! In the Middle Ages and up to the 19th century, the term “chasse-marée” was used to describe the horse-drawn carriages that brought fresh fish from Dieppe to Rouen and Paris overnight! The GR® 210 is a wonderful way to discover the charms of the Seine-Maritime region…
