Domaine du Colmoulins

The wet meadows and the woods of the Domaine du Colmoulins are located on the bank of the Saint Laurent river. Comprising a mosaic of habitats (wet meadows, woods, reed beds, streams, etc.), this wetland plays an important role in retaining water during floods and contributes to the preservation of nature. There is also a large number of insects, and especially remarkable dragonfly species.
In the 18th century, the Domaine du Colmoulins, which belonged to the Château du Grand Colmoulins, included farm buildings, water sources, fields, wet meadows, woods and an alder grove. In the 1960s, the farm started to decline with the development of modern and intensive farming. Some derelict buildings were then destroyed. A barn and the land are now maintained by the Department of Seine-Maritime in order to protect the biodiversity of the site.
