Le Mont Rôti à VTT

Come and recharge your batteries with breathtaking panoramic views and the forest of Eu. This 12 km route in the Bresle Valley is ideal for mountain bikers.

This ride starts in the charming village of Rieux. Close to Blangy-sur-Bresle, the starting post is located in the church square opposite Saint Martin Saint Barthélémy Church.

Your ride will start at top speed to the great delight of sport lovers! Indeed, after a few kilometres only on the road, the route starts with a climb, but don't worry behind each climb there is a descent! This is the opportunity to gain height and admire a panoramic view over the Bresle Valley.
Make the most the descent as you can see another climb taking shape in the distance! It is time to adjust your gear before hitting another climb. Indeed, the route deserves its name! This climb will take you straight to the Forest of Eu. Be careful, however, when crossing the main road.

Once in the forest, look around and listen carefully… the place is teeming with life! This large forest is home to numerous migratory birds as well as deer, hares and other animals. It is quite common to see some crossing your path!

As you continue, you will pass the signpost called Poteau du Mont-Madame. Erected in 1901, it is one of the 28 signposts in the forest! These were set up at the end of the 19th century and beginning of the 20th century by the Count of Aumale, the Count of Paris and the Count Gaston d’Orléans, who successively owned the forest. They are unique in France and are made of cast iron thus weighing several tons each! They are named after sites, foresters and members of the Orléans Family.



After a few kilometres in the shade of beech trees, you will get out of the forest for one last climb. Undoubtedly one of the most difficult, it will offer you a stunning view over the Bresle Valley! A pleasant descent will then take you back to your starting point. You can be proud of yourself!
