"One of the most beautiful walking trails in the Seine Valley" according to local walkers. A historic trail with amazing views over the surrounding heritage.

Following the paths in the Brotonne Forest, the history of this route dates back to the 13th century. Indeed, in the year 1202 the Count of Meulan gave all his belongings to the nearby Abbey of Jumièges on the sole condition that two monks had to stay live permanently in the chapel of his manor house in Le Torp and pray for him and his family. In order to relieve these monks every week, a route was built between the Abbey of Jumièges and the Torp Chapel. Used until 1727, the worshippers were tired of crossing the river Seine to attend the church service, the Torp Chapel was thus declared of no use to the people due to its location.
So would you like to follow in the footsteps of the former monks?
