A little bit of history…
Before you leave, let's learn more about the history of the Bonne Entente site. Two trees symbolising the friendship between France and England appear to have been planted in 1843. A beech and an oak, more than 2 metres high, have grown intertwined together for more than 170 years. Unfortunately, they had to be cut down in 2013 for health reasons. For the 100th birthday of the Queen Mother of England, the president at that time, Jacques Chirac, renamed the site "The Queen Mother Elizabeth’s Site". Of course, we love our cross-Channel neighbours!

Now, to the walk…
Wearing your best shoes and equipped with a bottle of water, you are ready to leave for this forest planted with beeches, oaks and a few chestnut trees. In a short time, you will arrive on a path in the heart of the forest. There is an unobstructed view of the woodlands and clearings along the path. A truly relaxing time in the shade of the trees during which, with a little luck, you will be able to observe some animals.

Back on the main track, you will pass a signpost post. These are unique features of the place. Made of cast iron and displaying two colours, they were erected during the 19th century and are named after illustrious figures of the town. In the distance, you can already see another one located on the main road. Now it's your turn to choose: continue and finish this circular route or continue your walk in the forest of Eu?

Our advice: continue on the "Queen Mother" trail, for a memorable time! Indeed, you will be amazed by the exceptional panoramic view over the Yères Valley. Mind-blowing bocage landscapes on a somewhat more challenging route, but which is well worth it! So, are you ready to follow us and turn this circular walk into a memorable experience?
