76111 Yport / Côte d'Albâtre
Yport has an unique location on the Norman coast between the woods and the sea.
The village is above the sea after a green wooded valley. The natural bay can be admired at low tide along the cliffs going until Fécamp.
Yport was a place where paintors and musicians used to stay : J.P. Laurens, Corot, Fourrie, Paul Colin, David D’Angers, Boudin, Guy de Maupassant, François Coppée, André Gide, Armand Lanoux, ...
You can still admire the beautiful villas of that times near the fishermen houses made of flint and brick. On the beach, you can still see some old fishing boats reminding of the Yport past and of the maritime tradition that is still celebrated every August 15th, on the sea and painting day.
