The Museum of Ceramics is located in the elegant Hôtel d'Hocqueville townhouse. Comprising more than 5,000 pieces, the museum traces the history of tin-glazed earthenware in Rouen as well as in other earthenware production centres (Delft, Nevers, etc.) Recent displays places the objects in context to better understand their use.
This museum is set in a 17th century palace, and is mainly devoted to the history and manufacture of the earthenware of Rouen from the 16th to the 18th century, as well as pieces from other faience centers and porcelains centers in France and around the world.
