This vast forest is divided between the Departments of Seine-Maritime and Eure and spreads over 10,700 hectares (26,440 acres) mostly planted with beech trees. It consists in a series of small woods, thus having a perimeter of 360 km. It is the biggest forest in Normandy and one of the most beautiful "cathedral” beech groves in France.
