Circuit capitale des Terre-Neuvas

Côte d'Albâtre

Overview

Looking for an urban walk to get to know Fécamp better? We have the walk you are looking for! This route consisting in 8 stops will delight both children and grown-ups thanks to the blue information panels dedicated to the life of the Newfoundland Fishermen who used to go fishing cod in Newfoundland, off the coast of Canada.

This walk starts in the upper part of the town, in front of Saint-Etienne Church and continues through the narrow little streets that lead you to the port of Fécamp. Can you smell the sea air and feel the sea spray when it is windy? Then it is time to learn more about Fécamp's maritime history thanks to the information panels.

Admire the boats and old sailing ships that testify to Fécamp's shipbuilding tradition. Cross the lock that will take you straight to the Fisheries Factory and the smokehouses, former herring processing factories typical of Fécamp. From there, you will have a stunning view over the exit if the harbour, the port and the tip of Cap Fagnet.

Then, head for the seafront, with the wind blowing in your hair! While enjoying the walk, you will be able to read the information panels that will enhance this pleasant experience while taking you to the cliffs.

If you want to see another facet of Fécamp, the town has 4 heritage trails that you will find in the brochure "Laissez-vous conter Fécamp" (Listen to the story of Fécamp) whose link is on this page.
