Let's go to the State Forest of Trait-Maulévrier, to the Two Oak Tree Trail to go and explore the famous oak tree of Allouville. Leaving from the Tourist Information Centre, this route first takes you to the thousand-year-old oak tree. You don't know its story? We are going to tell you then!

It is for some people at the time of Charlemagne and for others on the first day of the creation of Normandy that the origins of the Oak Tree of Allouville go back. Either way, it is the oldest tree in France today! Reaching 18 metres high, it conceals two tiny chapels inside. Did you know that the village also houses a perfect reproduction of a classroom of the 1950s? A place full of nostalgia! The programme includes discoveries for some and childhood memories for others!

It is now time to go on this ride that starts with a tour of the hamlet of Bouillot, a charming little village with typical Norman houses. On the way, you will come across the Nature Museum, stop to meet the guides who will tell you about the local fauna and flora. This museum, founded in 1981, aims to raise awareness and promote respect for biodiversity. An ideal activity for children and teenagers.

You will then gently go down into the forest and reach a flat path that goes along it. You are here at the bottom of the small valley, where herds graze in summer. As you enter the forest, the ride will become somewhat more challenging. But don't worry, the ascents and descents are accessible to everyone. It's just a matter of taking your time and making the most of the coolness of the trees. One last effort and you will be rewarded with a breathtaking view of the fields.

Our advice: come and do this ride between June and August to admire the numerous hydrangeas of the lovely hamlet of Bosc-à-Boc. So, are you convinced with this countryside and forest trail?
