La Reine Mère à VTT

Vallée de la Bresle

Overview

This mountain bike circuit, in the shade of the trees of the forest of Eu, will delight your pupils, be sure! An ideal trail, for a breathtaking view of the Yères Valley. Let's go for a one hour nature outing, for the greatest pleasure of the eyes!

A little history..
At the start of the hike, you will find the stumps of two trees that have been intertwined for more than a century. A beech and an oak, planted side by side for the coming of Queen Victoria in 1843. Intertwined, they symbolized the good understanding between France and England. These fusion trees had to be felled in 2013 for health reasons, but their presence in this place is still palpable. On the occasion of the 100th birthday of the Queen Mother of England, the then President Jacques Chirac renamed the place "Site of Queen Mother Elizabeth"

Heading for the circuit ..
It's off to conquer the few hills and slopes of this valley. Even if this portion is a bit sporty, it's an assured moment of relaxation that awaits you, thanks to the surrounding peace and quiet. Through the foliage on your left, you start to see some views of the Yères Valley. After a few strides, a breathtaking bocage landscape rises up before you with a breathtaking view of the Valley. You have arrived at the orientation table! Take the time to rest and hydrate your eyes

For the little ones, but also for the older ones, you will find along the way two information tables to learn about the animals of the forest. And for a real break, a picnic table is available near the kiosk. Linger on the two-coloured cast iron pole in the middle of the road. Specific to the Eu forest, these orientation poles are named after illustrious people from the town and were installed in the forest at the end of the 19th century.

The end already? We advise you to continue straight on the Bonne Entente trail to extend this forest experience and enter the heart of the forest. Follow us, you won't be disappointed!
