76600 LE HAVRE / Côte d'Albâtre
The first sailing regatta organized in France was in Le Havre, so it's a long history, more than a century and a half old, that unites Le Havre, sailing and competitions.
From Le Havre to Sainte-Adresse, the water is prized by amateurs as well as the most experienced competitors. Rich with two marinas, one accessible 24/24 sheltered jetties, the other in the Vauban basin in the heart of town, Porte Océane is also training center of the sailing league of Haute Normandie .
Starting from the Transat Jacques Vabre, the best skippers take their places every two years around the quays of the Vatine basin. Visitors and sailors enjoy a dozen days of entertainment before they join the South American coast.
Le Havre is a port, but it is also a beach located less than eight hundred meters from the City Hall, served by a tram. Canoeing, paddleboarding, stand-up paddling, catamaran sailing are just some of the activities open to rent without forgetting the sea of sand and its beach volleyball courts.
Further along the promenade promenade, restaurants with landscaped terraces and breathtaking views of the horizon, contribute to the development of a rich and eclectic tourist offer. As for the blue flag floating on the mast of the sea baths, it symbolizes for more than ten years, the quality of bathing water.
Le Havre, the place to be for sailors !!
