Overview
Museum and aquarium dedicated to the Norman coast, the ESTRAN Cité de la Mer in Dieppe tells visitors about shipbuilding and sailing, the fishermen's daily lives and the coastal and marine flora and fauna thanks to its big aquariums.
Visitors will learn more about the identity of the Channel coast through four themes divided into 4 areas: the evolution of ship building, the fishing industry "from the sea to the plate", the cliffs and pebbles, the aquariums, all unique in Seine-Maritime. Ship building, sea fishing, coastal fauna and flora and marine aquariums are at the core of the ESTRAN Cité de la Mer (Museum of the sea) in Dieppe. Thanks to these four themes spreading over 1,600 sq m, you and your family will learn all about the coastline and marine life of Upper-Normandy. From Viking ships to trawler engines, from the traditional herring smoke oven to the scallop dredge, from the cliffs to the pebbles and from the seahorse to the cod...the sea will no longer hold any secrets from you! Lounge and gift shop at the end.
