Val-au-Prêtre Valley

BELLEVILLE-SUR-MER, 76370 PETIT-CAUX / Côte d'Albâtre

Overview

Sensitive Natural Environments, Valleuses (dry-hanging valleys)

An unusual path to the beach, the Val au Prêtre dry-hanging valley is an ideal haven of peace to recharge your batteries. Wild and authentic, it is also a favourite location for shellfish pickers to gather shellfish at low tide.

Before you reach the sea, take time to have a look at the ravines at the bottom of the wooded valley and admire the thriving flora typical of the Pays de Caux dry-hanging valleys.
If you want to enjoy an exceptional view, you can follow the coastal footpath known as the Customs Officers’ Path towards Berneval-le-Grand to take in the view over the sea and marvel at the Alabaster Coast. There, Loïc Dubigeon (1934-2001) painted Falaises à Berneval, work exhibited at the Dieppe Castle-Museum.
