Le Manoir du Fay

Rue des Zigs Zags 76190 YVETOT / Pays de Caux

The Manoir du Fay and its 17-acre orchard are located in the heart of the Pays de Caux, in a Clos-Masure (traditional enclosed farmyard) in the town of Yvetot. Built in the 17th century by Pierre Corneille's great-uncle, the house used to be his country house. Behind the manor house, cob walls enclose the vegetable garden, which is managed and restored by the volunteers of the association “Faire vivre le Manoir du Fay” (Bringing the Manoir du Fay to life). The site has belonged to the town of Yvetot since 1989.

Thanks to a pleasant walk, enjoy the charm of the Manoir du Fay, set in a typical Clos-Masure (traditional enclosed farmyard) belonging to the town of Yvetot. This imposing brick and stone building constructed at the very beginning of the 17th century for Pierre Corneille's great uncle stands in the middle of a large 17-acre orchard. The Manoir du Fay has been listed a Historic Monument in 1996. It is closed to the public. This site also contains other buildings, including some restored ones like the sheep barn.
