Contemporary with William the Conqueror, the Abbey Church of Montivilliers, with its two naves is a Norman architectural treasure.
Built in the 11th century for a community of nuns, the building would be modified in the 15th century and turned into a surprising two-nave church that could accommodate both the nuns and the parishioners.
In addition, the abbey church features original ornaments including the Gothic tribune, a unique example in Normandy, and a surprising arch sculpted with animals, which remains unexplained.
