La Roseraie

Esplanade Tony Larue 76120 LE GRAND-QUEVILLY / Vallée de Seine

A few kilometres only from Rouen, Grand-Quevilly's Rose Garden is a 15-acre English-landscape park combining harmony and change of scene. This garden was inspired and designed according to the shape of petals, thus creating a stunning field of roses. Come and see some 280 varieties of roses planted in the shape of a petal. Both children and grown-ups will be able to learn the name and origin of these flowers thanks to identification labels. With your family, your loved one or your friends, everyone will be able to make the most of this garden and experience a moment suspended in time...

Join me for a sensory experience in almost 15 acres that will make our visit delicious and memorable. As soon as we arrived, an intense and exquisite rose fragrance already enveloped us, we were charmed. The colours of the sky and the roses perfectly combine to offer us a landscape worthy grand masters' paintings, which we couldn't get tired of watching.

As we strolled along romantic paths, we soaked up the both warm and serene atmosphere. Behind a bed of flowers, we discovered small, almost enclosed, friendly and relaxing spaces. We sat down, making the most of our time... Wrapped in greenery, we felt like being in a familiar cocoon and the roses seemed to whisper all their secrets. It seemed unreal, almost like a fantasy… A little bit further away, it was a field of roses that stretched below us. From our promontory, we took time to admire the colours and the movements of the rose beds dancing with the wind, providing us with an elegant sight. This landscape, with its touches of colours, reminded us of Impressionist paintings...

Let's dive into the heart of this field of roses and immerse ourselves in intense colours. Let's admire the hundreds of species planted there and bend over them to breathe in their recognisable fragrance. The water features in this garden add a refreshing touch to this green setting in the heart of the city. We sat by the water to enjoy a picnic, to read, to relax or to soak up the atmosphere of the place while the children went to have fun in the playground. This garden offered a real moment of disconnection as well as profound reconnection with nature, which would never cease to amaze us...
