Centre abbé Pierre - Emmaüs - Lieu de mémoire, lieu de vie

The Emmaüs - Abbé Pierre Centre is an 18th century country house located within a 5-acre park planted with trees and flowers. This remembrance site, one of Abbé Pierre's favourite places, is a beautiful and bucolic haven of peace. It provides a great opportunity to learn more about the social history of the 20th and 21st centuries. It shows the inventiveness and energy that men and women have deployed since 1949 in France and around the world to build a more fraternal world. It sends a message of hope (which is the meaning of the word Emmaüs) and provides a revitalizing retreat.

In the village where lived Father Pierre and where he was buried beside the first Emmaüs companions, Emmaüs has created an exhibition hall dedicated to Father Pierre, his life, work and message and to Emmaüs. You can visit his room at the chapel. The house welcomes persons with social difficulties who contributes to the centre life.
