‘Allouville-Bellefosse’ Oak Tree
Rue du Docteur Patenotre 76190 ALLOUVILLE-BELLEFOSSE / Pays de Caux
Allouville-Bellefosse, a small village in the Pays de Caux, is known for its ancient oak tree. This thousand-year-old tree is said to be one of the oldest oak trees in France and to date back to the reign of Charlemagne. Over the course of time, its trunk was hollowed out and became home to two chapels one above the other. Indeed, this oak tree has been a place of particular devotion. It has been listed a Historic Monument in 1932.
